A ‘Boxing’ Preacher

I have received the following enquiry.

I am looking for any information on a Rev F. Harry Condie (Dowlais). I don’t know what Church or Chapel he preached in, but he was also a “Boxing Preacher.”

  1. Harry Condie is mentioned on the biography of Peter Price written by D J Roberts called ‘Cofiant Peter Price’. It says that he ran a physical exercise class at Bethania for the new converts of the Revival of 1904-5. He sees to have been a member of Bethnai, Dowlais, and was appointed to this role by the minister, Peter Price. This must have been before he went on to become an ordained preacher himself.
