Manchester House was THE posh shop in Merthyr when I was growing up. !
When I was doing my teacher training I used to work in it’s sister shop the Coop opposite Lloyds bank during the holidays. If they were short of assistants in Manchester House I’d often get sent there to cover. I thought I was working in Harrods!
